HELLO! i’m Zhixin Tai.
Zhixin Tai is a Marie Curie COFUND Research Fellow at the Department of Quantum and Energy Materials and works in the Nanomaterials for Energy Storage and Conversion Group. His research revolves around the synthesis and investigation of the few-layered nanomaterials for the electrode materials of the alkali metal ions battery.
About Zhixin Tai
His research is focused on the few-layered 2D materials for the energy storage. Zhixin Tai has dual PhDs in Physical Chemistry in Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Science, China and University of Wollongong, Australia, respectively.
Before joining INL, Zhixin Tai was a post-doc fellow at ISEM/AIIM Facility, University of Wollongong in Australia, where he studied advanced electrode materials for alkali metal ions batteries using in situ methods, including lithium, sodium and potassium ions batteries.
The Cofund project
The objective of the COFUND project is to fundamentally capture the electrochemical behaviour of the few-layered electrode materials and understand their energy storage mechanism for alkali metal ions battery. In particular, this project will screen the suitable 2D electrode materials to improve the rate capability of the electrode materials and understand the change of the phase, morphology and chemical composition within few-layered electrode materials for alkali metal ions batteries. The strategy to obtain in-depth structural and chemical information of electrode materials is to use the modern in-situ equipment, including the in-situ X-ray Diffraction, in-situ transmission electron microscope and so on.
